How do I prepare for my acupuncture treatment?

Wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothes along with eating a light meal for one to two hours beforehand.

Does HIPPA privacy law apply to my acupuncture treatments?

Yes. All information discussed in the treatment room is protected by HIPPA.

What can I expect during my treatment?

The practitioner will ask several health-related questions along with recording wrist pulses and visually observing the tongue. This formulates a proper diagnosis and treatment plan specific for you.

The acupuncture treatment consists of placing fine sterile needles into specific areas of the body that work synergistically to restore health and balance. In addition, other modalities such as Cupping, Gua Sha, and Electrical Stimulation may be used to supplement the treatment.

How long is an acupuncture treatment?

The initial treatment is 1 ½ hour. Follow-up visits are 1 hour.

Post Treatment Care

Acupuncture post-treatment care includes: drinking plenty of water, eating well, rest, avoid strenuous exercise, and avoiding exposure to cold.

How many treatments will I need?

Acupuncture works best with multiple treatments. The number of treatments depends on the severity and duration of the condition. In most cases, weekly appointments for a minimum of 8-10 treatments will provide positive and long-lasting results.
